Sr. Engineer at Parker Hannifin in Saegertown, PA
The incumbent is responsible for scoping, planning and executing equipment, facilities and process projects within a chemical manufacturing environment. The incumbent will act as project leader on projects of medium to high complexity, typically working with a cross functional team. The assigned projects generally are not completely scoped, and/or technical solutions aren't known. Consider employee safety, environmental safety, plant layout, productivity, and product quality in all design efforts. Define the work scope for projects utilizing a cross functional team when needed and generate written and/or verbal proposals for these projects. Lead the Appropriations Request (AR) process in order to obtain approval for necessary project funds. Engineer technical solutions independently or with the assistance from in-house experts and/or 3rd party resources. Adhere to Process Safety Management/Management of Change requirements throughout the life cycle of the assigned projects. Function as a Project Manager for field installations, ensuring adherence to safety procedures while at times supporting direct supervision of construction activities. Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document and review equipment history, spare parts, and technical data. EDUCATION REQUIRED Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with 5-10 years of experience. Strong background in chemical engineering unit operations and paint/coatings manufacturing technology. Excellent communication skills. Proven track record of project management success, with a particular emphasis on large, complex assignments CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED Masters in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with 8-10 years experience. Background in Parker-Lord chemical manufacturing processes and procedures. Greenbelt experience. Professional Engineer (PE) License
